You Help Them Celebrate The Faith

In 2018, Ben joined the United States Marine Corps. Far from home and just stepping into adulthood, he embarked on a journey that would shape his life.

During his initial years of service, he discovered faith and found solace in God. Because of your donations, Ben and numerous service members and veterans have the materials they need to nurture and celebrate their faith while finding comfort in God's love.

But don’t take it from us; here are Ben’s words:

"Every time I would enter the Catholic Chapel on base, I would find The Word Among Us magazines. I would pick them up and read the daily meditations. Those daily meditations made me fall in love with Christ. No matter where I ended up, I could always find them for Marines to take. On my second deployment, we did not have a priest attached to our unit, so we could not get the Eucharist.

“Instead, we did the best we could to celebrate our faith. Every Sunday, the Catholics on my ship would read from The Word Among Us magazine and follow along. We tried our best to sing, but we weren't very good!

“Don't tell my guys, but sometimes I would take advice from the articles about raising a family and apply it to how I would lead my squad. Some things worked well, and we all got really close on deployment."
